Schaumburg, IL – December 5, 2024 – The Leadership Group (LG), an organization dedicated to the career management and professional development of its members, celebrated its 15th Anniversary in November with an Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg, IL.

In addition to its core mission of supporting the career development of CFOs, CEOs, and CHROs with education, resources, professional development, and networking, the Leadership Group is committed to giving back to the community. Each year, the Leadership Group hosts the LG Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds for a deserving non-profit. This year’s tournament was held at the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club and the beneficiary was the Evans Scholar Foundation.

The Evans Scholar Foundation provides a full tuition and housing college scholarship for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. To qualify, caddies must have a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character.

This year, the LG Charity Golf Tournament raised $83,000 for the Evans Scholar Foundation. Marty Koehler and his wife, Laurie were honored for their many years of service in coordinating the LG Charity Golf Tournament. To date, the LG Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $500k for charity.

John Liacone, Founder of The Leadership Group and Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Overture Group, said, “The last 15 years have been incredible. The LG has grown significantly and has had an important and positive impact on our members’ lives and careers. We’re looking forward to the next 15.”

About The Leadership Group
Established in 2009, the Leadership Group (LG) is a career development and networking organization that brings a group of executives together to uniquely provide information, education, resources, professional development, and support to its members.

About Evans Scholar Foundation
In 1929, famed amateur golfer Charles "Chick" Evans Jr. asked the Western Golf Association to administer the fund he had established to send deserving caddies to college. The WGA awarded its first two scholarships in 1930, sending caddies Harold Fink and Jim McGinnis to Northwestern University. Until World War II, all Evans Scholars continued to attend Northwestern, and it was there that the first Scholarship House was established. As the Evans Scholars Foundation grew, WGA Directors realized the impact of Chick's dream on the lives of young men and women with limited access to a college education. When Chick's original investment was exhausted, the WGA Directors perpetuated the Evans Scholars Program by making contributions of their own. The Evans Scholars Program provides academic, professional, and social resources that help students maintain a cumulative 3.3 GPA and 98 percent graduation rate. There are a record 1,190 Evans Scholars enrolled in 24 leading universities for the 2024-25 academic year, and 12,285 young men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars since 1930.
